I purchased this as a replacement for a chest based HRM as it started dropping connectivity to my PC. This, connected via Bluetooth, has - so far - been fault less. The accuracy is fine for what I use it for, although haven't compared to other devices so can't say for certain how accurate it is. My only criticism is that the magnet used to attach the charger is fairly week and disconnects with the slightest of touches, even the twist in the cable can cause it to disconnect.

I've always worn a chest strap, but after some extreme chaffing one day I decided to give optical a go. I chose the CooSpo on the basis of good reviews and because it seemed better value for money than some of the better known devices. The product itself is excellent. Because you wear it higher up your arm (just under the elbow) than wrist-based optical devices it appears to give a more accurate and stable reading - certainly similar to my Wahoo and Garmin chest straps. It paired easily with my Garmin Fenix and iPhone. It's more comfortable than the chest strap, although it does have to be worn fairly tight. The battery is quick to charge and lasts a long time - it held out during a 40 mile run anyway. But there is always a concern that, in the event of a problem, the customer service may not be as strong as the more well-known brands. Not in this case. I stupidly left the charger in Spain, so tried to find a replacement when I got back to the UK. Unable to, I contacted the company. Emma replied within a few hours, and after a slight mix-up (Emma looks after .com, I am .co.uk) she arranged with her colleague to send me a replacement free of charge. It arrived a few days later. Will buy their products again.

Spend a few more pounds on a better product as this is frustrating to use. The strap is awful, velcro to strong to undo and strap has almost zero elasticity so awkward to put on. The device has no memory and if you move away from iphone it loses connection unknowingly and if you remember to check to see if lost connection - you need to again find in bluetooth settings to reconnect which isn't as easy as you think. The app software is useless as cant even find the device as seems to just find wireless devices - yet this is using bluetooth? If I pair with my Bike I lose the connection to iphone - so doesnt support multiple devices. The plus is that it is rechargeable - many devices are still using batteries - but it unkown when you will need to recharge as no indicator.

I purchased this for my housemate to use as a fun heartrate monitor during horror streams on Twitch. So this review is also partially through experience of an app that it sends the information to. The monitor works fairly well but if I was to give an estimate on the accuracy I'd say it's more around the 60% range after using other tools and witnessing the differences. If you're not looking for specific monitoring but more of a general vibe, which can vary between 15bpm incorrectly in either direction, then this is worth the price. However if you want something accurate this isn't for you. The strap is comfortable and it's also easy to use. The on/off button itself isn't the most obvious but once you get a feel for where it is, you wont have any issues. The battery is a good length for anything you'd use this for too.

I bought this because my expensive wahoo tickr armband that had always been problematic eventually stopped charging altogether after about 2 years) because the fiddly charger connections no longer seemed to connect (tried degreasing them but even that stopped working after a while.) This however works well. Pros: Long battery life and the charger works as expected. You feel a lot more confident about the charger clicking onto it and making a connection. The tickr was always hit and miss and you had to wait ages to find out if you'd got it lined up correctly. This just works and the red/green flashing light tells you it’s charging and when it’s stopped. Zwift found it straight away, no problem. It has a proper on/off button. The tickr didn’t. Cons: the strap is a little short. It’s ok. It fits my weedy arms with about 2cm to spare but if you have massive biceps you might find it a bit tight as you are supposed to wear it around the crook of your elbow. Ideally I’d like a little more wiggle room but it’s ok and the only minor grip I have. (The tickr also had a problematic strap in that it completly disintegrated after about 6 months and needed replacing at great expense, this one looks a lot more robust.)

(posting this review after using it 3-4 times a week for 8 weeks) This is a great HRM. I'm pretty big and have thick arms, but had no problem strapping it to my upper arm. The battery in it lasts a good while; I ride three or four hours a week and charge it every weekend. As far as I can tell I haven't even come close to running it down. The magnetic charging cable is probably the weakest point; not because it doesn't work or anything, but because I'm worried about losing the cable since there's no backup regular USB port. The strap feels well made, is very comfortable and adjustable, and it even comes with a second strap (which I can't comment on because I didn't need to use it). I've had absolutely zero problems with connectivity to either my Android phone or during Strava workouts. I don't have a chest strap to compare it to, but I check the heart rate analysis after every ride and it seems to track my effort accurately—I've never noticed a period where the data drops out or varies wildly. So it may not be accurate down to the exact BPM, but it's definitely good enough for seeing the big picture over a long ride. As mentioned at the top I've been using this for 2 months now, 3 or 4 times a week for logging cycling workouts. It doesn't move around while I'm on the bike. The strap gets a little sweaty, but since it's fabric instead of a rubbery material it doesn't really bother me. Since it doesn't move around it doesn't chafe or anything like that, it just feels a little bit gross and wet when you take it off. But what strap doesn't?
