WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT COMMUNITY TRAINING EARLY YEARS TRAINING OFFENDER TRAINING LEARNDIRECT LIFE IN THE UK

Training

Computer Gym can facilitate the delivery of virtually any course via online learning. However we really excel with tutor-led delivery in certain subjects. These include literacy, numeracy, English for Speakers of Other Languages, ICT and some NVQs (see our “Courses” section for full details).

We follow the ALI Approved “Assess-Train-Assess” model:

Training Needs Analysis
Each client is visited and their needs analysed to establish exactly the type of training required and to see if they are eligible for any government funding. Practicalities of delivery and timescales are determined.

Individual Learning Plans
Learners are met and assessed individually to uncover their existing abilities, course requirements, motivations and expectations. Course content is then worked to that individual’s requirements, contextualised as much as possible to their role to ensure maximum benefit and interest.

Training Delivery
Training is often delivered using a mixture of laptops and paper-based learning tools. The embedding of ICT and basic skills where appropriate makes a vast difference to the learner’s ability to proceed with confidence and pass the end assessment. It increases the value of the course to the learner and their employer. Competencies and a learning portfolio are built-up, until the tutor and learner are ready to complete the course or sit an exam.

End Assessment
Upon completion all trainees complete a post-course questionnaire to check that the course objectives have been met. We report back to our client and identify the next level of training if required. We hold surgeries or workshops to answer specific questions relating to the training given and have awards ceremonies to recognise the employee’s achievement and the employer’s investment in their staff.
