WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT COMMUNITY TRAINING EARLY YEARS TRAINING OFFENDER TRAINING LEARNDIRECT LIFE IN THE UK

Offender Training

By the age of 35, one-third of UK men will have been classed as an “Offender” at some stage of their lives (this doesn't include minor traffic offences).

80% of Offenders who leave custody and community punishment who do not find employment will reoffend. This has huge cost implications to the country, their victims and their own lives. The biggest barrier to their gaining employment is often a lack of essential skills (such as literacy, numeracy and ICT) and the need for more advice and guidance on progression onto further learning and employment.

Computer Gym is at the forefront of offender training and IAG (Information, Advice and Guidance) initiatives to address these issues under its dedicated Offender Learning Services Division.

  • Contracts are held across London, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent and the Thames Valley.
  • Huge experience of using Probation Service’s DELIUS management information system.
  • An innate understanding of the Offender handling process and approach that works.
  • National Testing results consistently around 10% higher than the national average at 85-92% pass rate.
  • Over 2,500 Offenders are handled each year by the Offender Learning Services Division.

We thoroughly enjoy working with offenders and our approach – non-threatening, non-patronising and computer-based learning – sees us achieve the best results in the sector.
