Carl started Computer Gym in Queensland Australia in 1992 with his wife Louise. We were the first in the world to do this. Won the ‘Franchisor of the Year Award’ in 1996 and 1997 in Australia. Master Franchises are operated UK, Ireland and Singapore and Australia.
Qualified solicitor, MD of Hertz and Thomas Cook in Southern Africa.
Operations Director of Granada TV Rental in the UK. Owned Residential Hostels, Nursing Homes and Retirement Villages in the UK and Australia.
Undertaken several property developments.
Recreation - classical music, bridge, travel, computers, marathon running.
Carl and Louise have four children and seven grandchildren. Does a grand rendition of Riverdance and Sudoku champion.

Following a career in marketing media (outdoor advertising, narrowcast TV, magazines) in the UK, Australia and Malaysia, Darren undertook a Masters in Business Administration at the prestigious Cranfield School of Management. Specialising and winning competitions in business start-ups and entrepreneurialism, consulted with a number of multinational, national and online firms before joining Computer Gym in 2001. A keen rugby and football player, he also enjoys more subtle pursuits such as travel and watercolour painting. |

OPERATIONS DIRECTOR: Elaine Barella |

Elaine has worked for Computer Gym since 1996. She is a highly respected member of the management team having started as a teacher on the first Mobile Learning Centre (MLC) in the UK Elaine quickly progressed to Head of Operations by 2000.
She is responsible for the overall running of all MLC and laptop ‘flying squads’, recruitment, centre manager for awarding body accreditation and Learndirect, responsibility for H&S and implementation of quality assurance within Computer Gym. Elaine is a Senior Member of the IT Institute, holds an Adult Teaching Certificate and is also a qualified NVQ assessor.
Elaine enjoys spending time with her family, has two teenage daughters and tries to go to the gym twice a week. |

FINANCE DIRECTOR: Jacqueline Stubbs (FCCA, DMS) |

Having taken a career-changing decision to study accountancy, Jackie qualified as a Certified Chartered Accountant in 4yrs & worked in Private Practice for a further 4yrs before joining Computer Gym in 2004 as Finance Manager. She was promoted to Finance Director last year. Prior to this her career included working in training & development in both the public & private sector where she was involved with the early implementation of NVQs in organisations.
Away from work, Jackie & her partner have a number of investment/development properties & spend leisure time travelling, playing golf & spending time with friends and family. |
